A British company providing engineering design and project management services for the oil and gas, chemical and power generation industries wishes to appoint an experienced Lead Pipeline Engineer. The corporation employs over 1,250 people working in 14 offices worldwide.

Based in the Bangkok Office, the Lead Pipeline Engineer will:

• Prepare detailed design of medium and high-pressure pipeline systems for on-shore oil and gas and water projects
• Prepare pipeline design basis
• Prepare pipeline routing and route alignment sheets
• Design road, rail, and water-course crossings
• Select and calculate pipeline materials and equipment sizing including coating and lining materials, application and testing equipment
• Perform buoyancy calculation, mitigation techniques, pipeline construction techniques, including HDD & Micro-tunneling techniques
• Conduct pipeline cleaning, hydrostatic testing, vacuum-drying, and on-line inspection (intelligent pigging)
• Prepare man-hour estimates, summaries, and progress reports

Qualifications and skills required:

• Thai national, age 30 years up
• Degree in Mechanical Engineering with engineering license class II
• Minimum 10 years experience in piping within the oil and gas or petrochemical industries; minimum 5 years of design project
• Overseas work experience would be an advantage, particularly in a Middle East country
• Experience in supervising a small project team of engineers and designers
• Knowledge of international codes, SHE and quality management standards
• Familiarity with Microsoft Office applications
• Result-oriented with organizing, negotiation, presentation, and interpersonal skills
• Good command of both spoken and written English especially in technical English skills
