A transport service provider in Chiang Mai with 1,000 employees operating and maintaining 600 vehicles wishes to appoint a dynamic Fleet Director to join the management team.
Reporting to the Managing Director, the Fleet Director is expected to:
- Provide logistics directions and strategy to secure and expand company’s business volume
- Formulate annual operational plan, communicate with all functional (600 drivers and support staff) to attain mutual cooperation
- Approve work assignments, strengthen awareness of all staff on normal work procedures as well as in emergency situations
- Manage the preventive and corrective maintenance system of vehicles including expenditure approvals
- Select and implement appropriate new technology to facilitate effective fleet operations and reporting mechanism
- Ensure quality logistics services and safety standard to achieve the highest customer satisfaction while attaining high profitability
- Establish a competent workforce with strong teamwork spirit; enforce the performance appraisal system suitable
- Communicate externally regarding business concession/ permit, routing, pricing, and problem-solving
- Provide consistent reports on fleet operations, problem-solving, together with recommendations for further improvement to the senior management
Qualifications and skills required:
- Thai national, age over 35 years
- Degree in Supply Chain Management or other related field
- Minimum 15 years experience in supply chain operations; minimum 5 years experience at a management level
- Knowledge of safety standard, business law and other related laws
- Keen on operating applications for communications and fleet control
- Strong organization, communications, problem-solving, and team management skills
- Good command of both written and spoken English
